The RAM Turbo was a much improved version of Sinclair’s own ZX Interface 2

(Text continues below the gallery)

Unlike the ZX Interface 2 it could not be plugged into a ZX Spectrum while it is still powered on, had a full width ZX Spectrum compatible pass-through edge connector and it would add +5 volts to pin 7 for rapid-fire joysticks.

Both joystick ports: Sinclair ZX Interface 2 protocol. Right joystick port: Kempston protocol.
Hold down the joystick button during power-on on the left port to enter Protek’s ‘cursor keys’ protocol.

Later versions also featured a reset button.
