Named after Nafanya from the popular Soviet-era cartoon series “Дом для Кузьки” (Home for Kuzka) and “Приключения Домовёнка” (Adventures of Brownie) in which Nafanya is the mentor of Kuzka, a House Spirit.
The computer was aimed at children and diplomats, hence the briefcase in which it came and the cost, which was more than two and a half months’ salary for an ordinary worker.
While later machines had a standard Sinclair ROM, earlier machines had a ROM with an animated boot screen.
