Manufactured by Samsung in Korea, these QL’s had the inside of the case metallized to comply with the US’ FCC and German VDE standards. The serial ports (SER1 and SER2) and joystick ports (CTL1 and CTL2) were changed to industry standard D-sub connectors as opposed to the rather exotic ports used on the original QL and ZX Spectrum 128 but the wiring of the serial port and the protocol still didn’t adhere to the industry standard!
