Independent development of Spanish distributor Investrónica after the Amstrad take-over of Sinclair, dropping the ‘ZX’ prefix, rainbow logo and ties to the Sinclair name.

After Amstrad bought Sinclair and used Indescomp as their new Spanish distributor (they already distributed the Amstrad machines), former Spanish Sinclair distributor Investrónica brought to market their own design: the Inves Spectrum+. Amstrad later sued Investrónica over that in 1987, but by the time the court agreed with Amstrad, the computer was already discontinued (1991).
The ROM was heavily based on that of the ZX Spectrum 128 (previously developed by Investrónica)—it even contains the “SPECTRUM” and “PLAY” commands of the 128, but are no longer available.
The Spectrum+ has a built-in joystick port, adhering to the Kempston standard (IN 31), where on the ZX Spectrum+ a case screw was. Therefore the top case is a bit floppy there.
